Now that the dust has settled on the enormously successful Breakspoll International Breakbeat Awards 2009 held at Fabric & Matter in London, Breakspoll now turns its attention to the next colossal party … only this time it’s in the sun. Yes Breakspoll is coming to Spain!
The Spanish breakbeat scene is vast and for years the country has hosted parties that easily pull 5000+ partygoers on a regular basis. Breakspoll will be taking their brand to Seville and throwing a party that puts the cream of the UK breakbeat acts alongside the Spanish veterans who have been responsible for crafting such an immense scene. Now for the first time, and with the help of iBreaks Radio and Funkatech Records, the UK and Spanish scenes will come together to celebrate breakbeat on a level that has never been witnessed before. This event will be one of the most memorable breakbeat parties of the decade.
Breakspoll Spain Festival 2009 will propel a whole host of talent from the UK and beyond to play against the striking backdrop of an impressive arena to be showcased alongside the Spanish DJs. The festival will be held at the renowned Palacio De Los Deportes San Pablo stadium, home to Seville’s first division basketball team. The stadium has a 10,000 capacity and is centrally located within Seville, only a 10 min drive from the airport and 5 mins from Seville’s main train station. This is the first time an event of this kind has ever been held at the Palacio De Los Deportes San Pablo stadium in central Seville.
The production for this event will be spectacular. Two enormous stages will be built back-to-back and centrally located within the stadium. Stage One will have the appearance of a monstrous rock stage and will showcase the numerous live acts performing at this colossal festival. Stage Two will host an exciting array of DJs who will be spinning against an epic, cinematic display of mammoth visuals and lasers. The nature of this immense festival has received interest from both Radio 1 and Kiss FM who have confirmed coverage of this colossal event.
Seven Breakspoll award winners have been added to the line-up alongside many Breakspoll nominees, plus six exclusive acts that have never played in Spain before. DJs from the United Kingdom, Russia, Spain, Brazil, Germany and Australia will all be converging on Seville to play at Breakspoll Spain Festival 2009.
The date of the event has been carefully selected. Saturday 2nd May 2009 falls on the Spanish holiday called Feria. For a whole week the Spanish party hard and celebrate life. In the UK, the festival coincides with the May Day Bank Holiday weekend giving UK-based breakbeat fans the opportunity to combine a massive breaks festival with a long weekend in the sun.
At Breakspoll we cannot contain how excited we are about this amazing opportunity to deliver a festival that encompasses the talents of two countries that have been so massively involved in breakbeat. With the direction and professionalism of the iBreaks and Funkatech teams working alongside the Breakspoll organisation, this festival will become an essential event for all breakbeat enthusiasts not just from Spain but from the UK as well. This event is going to become a regular annual festival and will soon be an essential date on the breakbeat calendar.
